Greetings!
I've decided, after many many years of being sick of my old deviant username, to create a new account. Somehow, "captainsparrow666" just isn't reflective of who I am anymore.
I am a Pagan, more specifically a Druid. I worship the old gods of the forest and hunt (more of that can be read about on my blog in the link below), and find myself most at home when I'm surrounded by trees. I periodically go out to the woods to unwind and recharge the metaphorical batteries as well as connect with my gods and the local nature spirits.
My passions are history (particularly ancient and medieval Europe), archaeology, camping, poetry, photography, music, reading, and my faith in the old ways. I love to teach and debate philosophy and theology with others; these are the moments when my biggest revelations seem to come. If I'm not doing something with my hands, be it sculpting, drawing, typing, etc. I go a bit stir crazy. My mission is always to create; the bard in me just won't shut up.
My musical and literary tastes are relatively varied; though I have my definitive style preferences, there are always exceptions. For most of my life, the British Isles have held a particular amount of fascination for me, and that's reflected in the types of media I enjoy. When it comes to music I have a few different modes: European Folk/ Pagan, 70's British Rock, Broadway Showtunes, and The Alternative Rock phase that marked my teenage years. The books I love most are occult studies and the fantasy works of authors like Tolkien.
I'm just an average dork with a knack for cartoons and an iPhone camera.
Forest Blessings,
Brenna
